Negotiating Boundaries.

Talk 2026

Join our talk about Seacrete - Negotiating our Boundaries. What happens when a building material does not try to remain permanent, but is allowed to change?

In this talk, we share the story behind our research project in which we developed a building material originating from the sea, and reflect on what happens when it can eventually return there.

We will talk about ecology, material research, fieldwork, laboratory testing, failures, observations, and a new perspective on building with time, erosion, and collaboration with non-human marine ecosystems.

Material from the sea & for the sea, where human and non-human meet.

5 February, start 12:15 (doors open from 12:00)
Address: Broedplaats Nesse, Terneuzen - Organisation for the production, development, and presentation of contemporary art and design.
