Rijkswaterstaat has commissioned a project focused on the design of a sustainable bridge railing that incorporates locally harvested hemp from Nieuw Zwanenburg.

The bridge is placed at the Symbiotic Innovation Pavilion at the InnovA58 test site in Oirschot, near Eindhoven. Lotek has experimented, designed and produced a railing from rope. Besides hemp, the bridge consists of a flax composite and recycled azobé wood.
